SQUARESEAL is a rectangular gasket with a central hole of 19 mm x 2 mm, made of a special hydro-expansive rubber that, when in contact with water, reacts by increasing its initial volume. SQUARESEAL, used in combination with a normal "blade" metal spacer for wooden formwork, hermetically seals discontinuities that could easily form in the concrete due to the presence of the spacer; discontinuities that in many cases could pass from one side of the wall to the other and, therefore, could seriously compromise the waterproofing of the masonry. The hydro-expansive capacity of SQUARESEAL has been tested in the laboratory with three different types of water: demineralized, salt, and strongly basic pH (to simulate conditions in contact with concrete).
Construction of underground concrete structures using wooden formwork, where the wall is in direct contact with the soil and where there are no external waterproofing layers to the masonry itself: basements, taverns, underground garages, underground and semi-underground spaces, etc.
The line of Drykos for new construction was specially developed to increase the durability of concrete structures.
